 News from the Board
Board of Directors

School is out for the summer so watch your speed and be mindful of children playing around the community. We've been getting complaints about cars, ATV's and motor bikes speeding through our community. We can't stress it enough, you need to call the Mooresville Police at 704-664-3311 if you see this happening. They have the authority to ticket and put a stop to it. If they don't know about it, they can't do anything about it.

Also there are a number of animals being let out to freely roam the neighborhood. These pets are defecating on the lawns and no one is there to clean it up. This is unfair to the rest of the community and the homeowners who have to clean up after someone else's animal. Plus, when homeowners are walking their animal on a leash and an unleashed animal runs towards them, it makes it difficult for the owner of the leashed pet to control their own animal. We urge you to call the Police or Animal Control 704-878-5424 when you see animals running wild. We hear from these departments that they can't justify sending out a regular patrol since they don't have enough complaints to justify it. As they say, the squeaky wheel gets the grease. In other words, you need to call them, the Board has little authority in these areas and we can't call for you, you need to step up and get pro-active in protecting our community. The same applies to protecting yourselves and your property. We urge you to get with your neighbors to keep a watchful eye out for anything out of the ordinary. We're looking into having a Police representative come and assess our neighborhood and tell us what we can do to better protect our community. There will be more about that when we get additional information. Hopefully, there will be enough interest to warrant a presentation by the police.

The second half of your dues are on July 1st. If money is received and credited to your account after July 31st, a $20 late fee will be assessed to your account. Please make sure that you get it in time to avoid this fee. Upgrades to the pool area are just about completed now, we thank those who were patient while they were being made. There are a few other upgrades that are still being made, but they will not impact the use of the pool, especially at night. The normal hours of the pool are back in place. Sunday through Thursday, 8:00 am till 10:00 pm, Friday and Saturday 8:00 am till 12:00 am. No one under the age of 18 is permitted in the pool area at any time after 9:00 pm. It doesn't matter if there's an older person with them, no exceptions. Violating this rule can cause a loss of pool privileges for a period of 60 days. Our pool Chairman, Tony Nespoli is in the process of moving. We thank him for his help over the years. We are currently seeking a volunteer to step up to take over the Pool Committee and volunteers to work with the new Chairperson. Those who are interested should contact the Board about your interest.

Pool Committee

Pool CommitteeThe pool season is in full swing once again, with the children home from school and the warm temperatures during the day, we're seeing increased usage at the pool, which is a good thing. The upgrades that were implemented, are just about completed, if you've not noticed the new lighting around the pool for evening swimming, you should come by in the evening when the sun has gone down. It provides a safer environment for swimming in the evenings. We replaced the dilapidated old sodium lights, with more efficient LED lighting, added a concrete base for them to rest upon and should reduce our electric usage by 1/2, since each old lamp consumed 250 watts of power, the new ones use 120 watts and provide a much brighter and cleaner light. We might have to fine tune the angle, but when installed they were set to shine on the pool area only, which is our primary objective. With the new lighting, it'll provide better security at the pool area and make a safer area to swim in.

We wish to remind you of a few rules, it's a community pool, to be enjoyed by all, family friendly environment is what we want to achieve and we need your help in obtaining that goal. We ask that you only let your guests in with you and close the gate upon entering and leaving, we still have outsiders trying to access our pool. Children like to press the exit button quite often, allowing those who shouldn't be in the pool area access. Please watch them and make sure that they're not allowing others in. Good point to remember, if your key fob worked and someone else's doesn't, should be a clue that they don't belong in the pool area at all. Ages for those who may use the pool are anyone younger than 14 must have an adult or someone who's at least 16 years of age accompany them at the pool at all times, that doesn't mean that they should drop them off at the pool and go on your way, you have to supervise them. 14 year olds, can come by themselves, but not bring anyone with them. 16 year olds, are permitted to bring guests with them. No one not 18 years of age is permitted at the pool after 9 pm at all times, no exceptions. That means you cannot bring a child to the pool, even if they're with an adult, it's adult swim time.

Residents not in good standing cannot be guest of other residents. All residents are required to swipe their key fob. If you see something at the pool happening, let the pool committee and Board know it as soon as possible, noting date, time of day, area of the pool that it occurred and what had occurred, so that we may investigate it and act upon it. Reminder that footballs, basketballs, soccer balls, nerf balls, etc, which are not intended for pool use, is not to brought to the pool at all. Continued abuse, may result in suspension of pool privileges, as determined by the Board, there's a big field next to the pool, which is for that purpose. No glass is to be brought into the pool area at any time. If you lose your key fob, report it right away to the Board, so that it can be de-activate, to prevent unauthorized use of it, an appointment will need to be made to replace it, replacement cost is $25 per key fob. We also remind everyone that they must clean up after themselves before they leave, so that it'll be a nicer place for everyone in the community. The pool committee and Board are going to meet to set up guidelines for having children birthday parties, so everyone will have a better idea of what's expected of them, when they request usage of the pool for that purpose. With cooperation, this swim season can be an enjoyable time for all!
