News From the Board
School is in session, summer is behind us and cooler weather is coming our way. We still have a few weeks of the pool season left; hopefully the weather will be agreeable. We should now be looking at prepping our lawns for the winter season. Aerating, fertilizer, grass seed and water should have our lawns looking great by the spring. By the time you read this, the deadline for registering for a new recycling bin from the City of Mooresville will have expired; you'll have to wait for the next ordering period to get one. According to the literature, they're giving us a larger bin that you will be able to put many different types of recyclables in, but they're only picking it up every other week. There will be an annual fee of $36 to all residents whether you use the service or not.
Over the past several months we've received information relating to the pool through second and third hand sources. We remind everyone that the best way to contact the Board or committees directly is to use our website. If more information is needed, we'll contact you directly. Asking someone to contact or speak to the Board for you, really doesn't work all that well. By the time we get it, facts can be totally different or distorted. The added benefit is that you receive an answer directly from us, not by pass along. The Board and the pool Committee is evaluating 2011 pool season. We would appreciate any comments relating to the pool. We're looking to make some more improvements in the pool area over the winter; your positive input would be appreciated.
The Board has met to discuss various issues relating to the Pool, Landscaping, Irrigation and general repairs. We are looking at separating the electrical system on the front pool house lights from the lights around the pool itself. This will allow us to use those lights during the winter when the main pool lights are off. This will give us added security. We have budgeted monies in order to replace dead shrubs in the front and at the pool area. We also approved funds to have a portion of our irrigation moved onto our property and off of the towns' right of way. The system was constantly being damaged when cars and trucks drove on it. In the next couple of months, we'll be requesting companies to submit bids. We normally start new contracts for the pool, landscaping and irrigation in March, but we start looking now.
The various committees have been busy, some of their work is easily seen while others work behind the scenes, please consider joining one of the committees, many hands make light work for all.

A Message from the ARC
Architectural Review Committee
Over the past couple of months there have been requests for changes that the committee has rejected. In a couple of cases, the homeowner has contacted us telling us that their neighbor has it, why can't they. First of all, there have been homeowners that have made changes and additions without submitting an ARC Request for approval. This is an automatic $100 fine and those homeowners can be told to remove those changes. This committee normally does not go around peeking into other people's backyards, but when a violation is brought to our attention, we must act on it. Because of some complaints about violations, the Board and ARC committee members will be travelling around the neighborhood in order to document these violations. Our CC&R's clearly state the process one has to go through before any changes can be made on your property. Of course, this does not include the interior of your house. More information can be found on our website and our CC&R's.

Landscape Committee
Summer is gone and it is time to do some planting. We are going to be replacing some dead shrubs and we need some MAN POWER! The landscaping committee will be replacing shrubs in the pool area and also by the main entrance at the monument. This is going to be stage 1 of my plan to get the entrance ways looking more attractive. Budget permitting I would like to work next on the second entrance down by the pines. I plan on making this area look like it actually belongs to the community. We are working on some lighting projects and other things as well. IF ANYONE CAN HELP PLEASE CONTACT ME. 704-929-1774 or by email HERE. I am looking at Saturday October 1 or Saturday October 8. Will depend on what is better for everyone. Thank you for your help.
Thank you and as always feel free to contact me if there is anything I can help you with.
