News From the Board

Board of Directors

Spring is in full swing and the summer is almost upon us. We are glad to see that the pool is being utilized throughout the day. The pool committee will update you with pool news, but we would like to add a few comments. We ask that everyone lower the umbrellas when they are done and leaving. In case we get a heavy storm wind blowing through, we don't want to see them flying around. We have heard some rumors that we would like to put to rest. The first is that we don't have anyone to maintain the pool. This is not correct. Linwood Farms has a pool company that comes every day. They check the AUTOMATED chemical system that we have and also do checks on the water by hand. They do everything that the last pool company did except supply lifeguards. The other rumor is that the teenagers are out of control. We spent many hours at the pool, and yes, we saw things we didn't like, so we said something and it stopped. This is your pool so don't be afraid to say something. If there is a problem that cannot be corrected calmly, please note the Day and Time and let us know. The Board will deal with those problems.

The Annual Meeting is coming up on May 25th. If you are unable to make it, please send in your proxies, we need a certain number for us to reach quorum or we will have to cancel the meeting and pick another date. This increases our cost and we are trying to watch our budget. Hopefully we will see everyone there.

A Message from the ARC

Architectural Review Committee

Architectural Review Committee

This is the time of year that many people make changes to their home. Remember, if any changes are made to the outside, an ARC Request must be submitted. Failure to do so can result in a $100 fine and that change being removed. ARC requests are normally responded to quickly, so please submit. Also, we have rules on grass height. What most people don't know is, so does the town. If they come through and feel your grass is overgrown, they can issue heavy fines. On one drive through, we have seen some home with heavy weed growth. Lawns must be maintained and weed lawns spread to your neighbors. The fall is time to grow grass, so please use weed killer or keep the weeds short (not going to seed) until the fall when you can grow grass.

4th of July Neighborhood Parade and Candy Scramble

To celebrate our American spirit, the Social Committee will host the Annual Linwood Farms 4th of July Parade on Saturday, July 2nd at 11 AM at the Pool Parking Lot. Registration for the Most Festive Judging begins at 10:45AM. Small gift card prizes will be awarded for the "Most Festive" of each category.

This is a quick, fun event that can kick off your holiday.

The Categories are:
• Most Festive Individual
• Most Festive Family
• Most Festive Pet
• Most Festive Stroller/Wagon
• Most Festive Bike/Scooter

So start breaking out your red, white and blue decorations and go all-out! Have fun dressing up yourselves, your kids, pets, bikes, scooters, strollers and wagons. The bolder, the better! Let's see your American pride!

A new additon to our Parade this year is a Candy Scramble. We had several bags of candy left from our Egg Hunt and we don't want it to go to waste! We will have the Candy Scramble immediately following the Parade. What's a Candy Scramble you ask? You grab a paper bag and when we yell,"Go!" you run like mad and try to scramble for as much candy as you can grab and toss into your bag.

Following the Candy Scramble, we will have popscicles to help us all cool off. We hope to see you there! Prizes will be awarded during this time.

Please note: This will be the last Social Committee Event until we are able to have some new volunteers join the Social Team.

We have asked in the past for some new members, but to no avail. Many of the current members are stretched a little too thin to give the time needed to organize and execute activities in the neighborhood. We hate to see the fun end, but we need your help! Please contact the Social Committee on the website to let us know if you'd like to join us. Without you....the fun will end! So please consider joining.

Social Committee members usually meet once a month or as needed to plan activities for the neighborhood. Many of us have become good friends and it's a great way to get to know your neighbors. So if you like to have fun and want to help support your neighborhood, come check us out!

WE NEED YOUR HELP!!!

Pool Committee

The pool is open for the season, check the hoa website for new expanded hours.

Please check with the pool committee or hoa board for special event requests etc.

Our board of directors has allocated funds for many improvements (thanks Jeoff, Dan & Rhett).

We have been able to get new umbrellas, 6 more round tables and 24 new chairs for the pool area.

We have put in a 1 hour timer for the kiddie pool fountain. It is on the wall to the right of the showers, just lift the cover, turn it to the right and it will shut off by itself.

The pool building has been power washed and the ceiling structure has been repaired and is being painted.

A few residents have complained about large groups of adults drinking alcoholic beverages inside the pool area. Alcoholic beverages are prohibited at the pool except at pre arranged adult only functions and pool access can be suspended to violators.

Also please clean up your trash and close the umbrella after using a table. There have been a few tables each day that have been left cluttered with beverage bottles, juice boxes, candy and food wrappers etc. Be considerate to your neighbors.

Your HOA President, Jeoff Greenfield, saves a
baby dove prior to power washing at the pool
