News From the Board
Spring is just about upon us and the Board has been working with the various committees to usher in this season. New contracts have been signed for landscaping and pool management. Also, bids will be going out to have the pool house pressure washed and painted. The pool will be opening in mid-May, make sure you have your pool key fobs, as they will not be re-issued, but replacement and additional ones may be purchased at $20 per key fob. New rules will be posted on line for the 2011 season.
The Social committee is also getting things to help start the season as well. Right now they are in the planning stage.
We have been receiving several complaints about speeding through our community. We remind everyone that the posted speed limit is 25 MPH, if you observe someone speeding, please report it to the Mooresville PD, 704-664-3311. They have the authority to enforce the traffic laws in our community, they can only do so if they’re made aware of violations. It’s unfortunate that we have to resort to this tactic, because many of the complaints that have been received state that it’s our residents who are violating the traffic laws. The safety of our community is at risk which necessitates this action. Your cooperation is essential, both in observing the laws and reporting violators. Areas that we’ve received complaints on are Fontanelle Drive, Pleasant Grove and Golden Valley. Times are also when the children are waiting at the bus stops or playing near the streets.
Your HOA dues are due now. Beginning April 1, late fees will be applied, any fees owed will be deducted first, and then the remainder will be applied to the dues, so make sure that is included in your payment, to avoid any additional fees. Our Annual Budget Meeting on March 24, 2011, will start 6 pm, we will present the budget for this year. There will be a question & answer period after the budget. We’re planning on keeping to the agenda and would appreciate that you hold questions to that designated time.

EGGSTRAVAGANZA CELEBRATION & Call-Out for CANDY!!
With the Easter holiday being later this year, the Social Committee is anxiously awaiting our next upcoming event. Our "Egg"stravaganza Celebration will be held on Saturday, April 16th at 10 AM at the pool parking lot, we will host an Egg Hunt for children ages 0-7. Immediately following the Egg Hunt, there will be a Spring Scavenger Hunt for ages 8 and up.
The Scavenger Hunt will full of excitement, too! We will give you the clues and send your team out on an adventure. Eggs will be hidden around the neighborhood. The first two teams to find all of their eggs and return to the pool area will win a basket full of goodies. We recommend teams of 3-4. You will need a bike, scooter or some very fast legs. Go ahead, get your team organized now. This friendly competition is fun for all ages (8 and up) so get your family together, call your friends or recruit a new neighbor.
The number of children who participate in the Eggstravaganza keeps growing and we are in need of candy. We will begin collection of candy March 20th. Please bring bags of individually wrapped candy to 114 Lacona Trace or 183 Golden Valley Drive by April 12th. There will be bins on the front porches for you to drop off your candy donations. Thank you for your help! You make our Egg Hunt very SWEET!

A Message from the ARC Architectural Review Committee
We are in the time of year when many people make their ARC requests. All requests must include the filled out ARC Request Form, A detailed description of what’s being done, Materials list and a copy of your Plat (site survey) with the location of the (changes) improvements clearly marked on it in proportion to your house. Also, you must be able to prove that a request was sent, i.e. email confirmation, certified mail, etc. The covenant states you must wait 30 days, if an answer has not been received in that time period you must resubmit and wait 10 days. If you do not hear from the committee in that time frame, only then can you proceed. Just be aware, if the request violates the covenants, whether you hear from the committee or not, it is not approved.

Landscape Committee
With spring on the way our neighborhood is getting a overhaul with the help from our new landscaper’s “Lawn Pro’s of the Carolina’s”. As you can see the have been busy trimming trees and cutting down grasses. In the next month they will be doing some much needed cleaning up. There have been some common area’s that have been overlooked in the past and we are working on getting them shaped up. We will also will once and for all get the area on Fontanelle (the gully) totally ripped out from the weeds and debris that has gotten over grown again. Hopefully by the summer this will be an area that the kids can play some ball. With warm weather approaching more people will be walking with their dogs. Please once again may I remind you to take advantage of our doggie stations and clean up after your pooch. There are still unfortunately those who do not pick up after their pets. Thank you to those who always have. As always please feel free to contact me if you would like to help with any projects or have any issues you would like to address.
Thanks,
Committee Chair, Barb Pfeffer
