News From the Board
We've had some very busy times since our last newsletter, the Board has been working with the Pool Committee to get the pool fully operational and iron out some of the bugs for the season. We're experiencing a high level of use at the pool this season; for the most part it's been pretty good. We need to remind the community the pool is for members who are in good standing with the HOA and that members not in good standing cannot be guests of residents; it's not fair to the rest of the community. Also, we must remind you not to let anyone in who is not your guest, i.e. While entering or leaving don't allow anyone who is not your guest come through the gate. Report any violation and/or situations you see at the pool to the pool committee and Board, noting time, date and area of pool. We also have some people who have been jumping over the fence to gain access to the pool. Trespassing charges can be issued to anyone in the pool area who is not authorized. We have had a few identified and warnings have been issued, further attempts will result in trespassing charges.
The second half of your HOA dues are due July 1, 2011, notices will be sent out by the time you read this. Any dues that are received after August 1st will be assessed a $20 late fee. Failure to pay your dues will end up by having your pool privileges suspended. Pool Key Fobs are activated each year at the beginning of the season to residents who are in good standing, so make sure that you put the key fob in a safe accessible area. Replacement key fobs are available at $20 per unit.
Hopefully, you noticed that a lot of landscaping work is being done, i.e. trimming, edging and cutting. The community is starting to take shape and really look nice, especially the entrances. Make sure you give a thank you to your various committee members for the hard work that they're doing for their community. The Social Committee is busy planning for our Independence Day Celebration.
Last month we had our annual HOA meeting and for the first time we had enough in attendance, along with proxies to conduct the meeting the first time around. A new member of the community, Erin Hatfield ran against Jeoff Greenfield for the Board position, Jeoff had won another 3 year term, and we thank Erin for her concern for our community and her willingness to run. There are many ways one can serve our community. Joining one of the committees goes a long way and they're in need of more help, many hands make light work for all. Discussions included accomplishments for 2010 and goals for 2011, the Reserve Study, contractor costs, repairs and the community health in general. Future dues increases were also raised. When asked if anyone had an objection to a $1.75 increase a month, virtually everyone said no. We asked so people understood that we need to fund our Reserve Fund, as well as, keep up with the rising cost of utilities and contractors. After a long question and answer period, the meeting was adjourned.
The Board and committees can be reached by the HOA website, if you have a comment or suggestion, please fill out the form and send it in.

A Message from the ARC
Architectural Review Committee
We have been receiving numerous emails requesting information on ARC submittals. What do I need? Mail me a form. Do we have to submit a request? And much more.
We cannot sit by the computer all day answering all these questions, especially when all the answers can be found on our website and in our covenants. Forms can be obtained under the tab Documents. The covenants can also be found there. Under the Architectural Tab, one can find the Standards and Guidelines, as well as, another link for tips that will tell you what you need to submit an ARC request. Homeowners must understand that, like the Board, this is an unpaid volunteer job for ALL committee members and that homeowners must participate in the process. The information is on our website. If you cannot find an answer to your question, then please feel free to email us.

4th of July Neighborhood Parade and Candy Scramble
To celebrate our American spirit, the Social Committee will host the Annual Linwood Farms 4th of July Parade on Saturday, July 2nd at 11 AM at the Pool Parking Lot. Registration for the Most Festive Judging begins at 10:45AM. Small gift card prizes will be awarded for the "Most Festive" of each category.
This is a quick, fun event that can kick off your holiday.
The Categories are:
• Most Festive Individual
• Most Festive Family
• Most Festive Pet
• Most Festive Stroller/Wagon
• Most Festive Bike/Scooter
So start breaking out your red, white and blue decorations and go all-out! Have fun dressing up yourselves, your kids, pets, bikes, scooters, strollers and wagons. The bolder, the better! Let's see your American pride!
A new additon to our Parade this year is a Candy Scramble. We had several bags of candy left from our Egg Hunt and we don't want it to go to waste! We will have the Candy Scramble immediately following the Parade. What's a Candy Scramble you ask? You grab a paper bag and when we yell,"Go!" you run like mad and try to scramble for as much candy as you can grab and toss into your bag.
Following the Candy Scramble, we will have popscicles to help us all cool off. We hope to see you there! Prizes will be awarded during this time.
Please note: This will be the last Social Committee Event until we are able to have some new volunteers join the Social Team.
We have asked in the past for some new members, but to no avail. Many of the current members are stretched a little too thin to give the time needed to organize and execute activities in the neighborhood. We hate to see the fun end, but we need your help! Please contact the Social Committee on the website to let us know if you'd like to join us. Without you....the fun will end! So please consider joining.
Social Committee members usually meet once a month or as needed to plan activities for the neighborhood. Many of us have become good friends and it's a great way to get to know your neighbors. So if you like to have fun and want to help support your neighborhood, come check us out!
WE NEED YOUR HELP!!!

Landscape Committee
Not much to report about which is actually a good thing. Our current landscaper's are doing such a good job that I don't have much to complain about. For those of you that did not attend our annual board meeting, we have done some major cleaning up in the community. New mulch was added again this year to all of our trees and beds. I am hoping in the fall (budget permitting) that we can replace the bushes in the pool parking lot area that have died. If I can get this approved I will need volunteers to help with the plantings so that we can keep the price down. Our landscape company will get them for us at a discounted rate so this will also help keep cost down. The lawns have had fertilizer as well as weed preventive put down. It's a work in progress. I would also like to plant some bulbs in the fall for the spring. Again volunteers will be needed. Thank you for all the kind words on how our neighborhood is shaping up. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me.
