News From the Board

Board of Directors

As you know, the Board has been receiving bids for the Monument repair work. All bids are in and have been submitted to the insurance company. A check has been cut by the insurance company and a contractor has been selected, Ibison Stone Masonary. This happens to be the original builder of our Monument. Work should begin shortly depending on weather.

The Annual Budget Meeting and our Annual Meeting have been scheduled and the rooms have been rented. Both meetings will be at the Charles Mack Center in town. The Budget meeting is scheduled for Thursday, March 24th from 6 to 8pm. The Annual meeting will take place on Wednesday, May 25th from 6 to 9pm. Please mark your calendars.

The bills for our annual dues were sent out by Cedar Mgmt. last week. You may elect to pay all at once, ($360.00) or in two installments. The first installment is due March 1st, ($180.00) and the second due July 1st, ($180.00). Note, that any monies owed (i.e. overdue dues, fines, late fees) will be deducted first and the remainder applied to the current years dues.

A friendly reminder that trash and recycling bins have to be brought in with a 24 hour period, and that they may not be viewed from the street. Some people have not removed or shielded their cans from view. A shrub in front is not a shield. Be aware, there is a $100.00 fine for failure to shield or remove the cans from view.

Now is the time for preparing your lawn for summer. Even though the Suns not as strong as in June, protect yourselves and don’t get burned.

We're looking forward to seeing everyone at the Annual meeting.

"Egg-stra, Egg-stra...Read All About It!"

Spring has nearly sprung (at least our current weather feels like that!) and our "Egg"stravaganza Celebration will hopefully put a spring in your step. The LF Social Committee has planned a morning of fun for you and your family. Saturday, April 16th at 10 AM at the pool parking lot, we will host an Egg Hunt for children ages 0-7. Immediately following the Egg Hunt, there will be a Spring Scavenger Hunt for ages 8 and up.

The Easter Bunny will make an appearance at the Egg Hunt and will be available for pictures. There will be photo opportunities you won’t want to miss. So, don’t forget your camera or your basket!

The Scavenger Hunt will full of excitement, too! We will give you the clues and send your team out on an adventure. Eggs will be hidden around the neighborhood. The first two teams to find all of their eggs and return to the pool area will win a basket full of goodies. We recommend teams of 3-4.

You will need a bike, scooter or some very fast legs. Go ahead, get your team organized now. This friendly competition is fun for all ages (8 and up) so get your family together, call your friends or recruit a new neighbor.

The number of children who participate in the Eggstravaganza keeps growing and we are in need of candy. We will begin collection of candy March 20th. Please bring bags of individually wrapped candy to 114 Lacona Trace or 183 Golden Valley Drive by April 12th. Thank you for your help!

NEIGHBORHOOD YARD SALE

Mark your calendar's for our Annual LF Neighborhood Yard Sale scheduled for Saturday, May 7th from 7AM-12 NOON. So as the springtime weather approaches, take advantage, clean out the garage, the attic and your closets to prepare for our yard sale. More information to come.

Pool Committee

Your HOA Board and Pool Committee have been busy all winter working and preparing so we all can have a safe and fun filled 2011 Pool Season.

  • THE POOL COMMITTEE NEEDS A FEW NEW MEMBERS. Please contact Tony Nespoli if you are interested.
  • The Board and Pool Committee are soliciting bids for a licensed maintenance company to maintain the Pool and Playground area (Cleaning bathrooms – Pool Chemicals etc).
  • The Pool and Playground rules are being revised to better fit our residents and security requirements for the 2011 season.
  • There are no lifeguards planned for the 2011 season. A full time security system has been installed to monitor the pool, parking lot and playground. Individual safety is still the responsibility of each household.
  • Increased hours for pool usage are being considered.

1 – The front entrance gate and lock have been repaired / reprogrammed and some hardware has been replaced for increased security and safety.

2 – The Roof Structure above the Pool House has been repaired and reinforced.

3 – 24 hour electronic security has been installed for the pool, playground and parking lot and is working perfectly.

4 – Within the next 2 months, the pool house will be pressure washed and painted.

Landscape Committee

Landscape Committee

With spring around the corner we are about to get ready to work with some new landscapers: Lawn Pros. We will be cleaning up the gully by the pool again this year. This will be in our contract to be maintained in the future, so this time it will stay looking good. This is a big area and I am hoping that the kids will be able to use it to play some sports. There are some other areas that will be addressed as well. We have tree’s intruding on homeowners properties that need to be trimmed and some other common area’s that have been neglected. As you know my goal is to get this place looking good.

We have installed 4 doggy stations and I think for the most part they are a success. The area by Golden Valley and Fontanelle is an area that people continue to let their dogs "go" and not clean it up. This is just wrong. If anyone sees a person letting their dog relieve itself and then not pick it up, please contact me. They will be issued a warning. This is insulting to all of us. And let’s say thanks to the people who do pick up after their pooches!!!

Let’s all work together and take pride in our neighborhood. PLEASE let’s all do our part and help to keep our neighborhood looking BEAUTIFUL!

I do not have any other projects yet but we're always up for ideas. You can contact me any time.

Thanks,

Committee Chair, Barb Pfeffer
