
Mauro
Messina, a native of North Carolina, lives on
Pleasant Grove Lane with his wife Wendy and two
teenagers, Patrick and Holly.
For nearly
19 years, Mauro has served the public in various
capacities at both the federal and local
government levels. He believes his professional
experience provides valuable insight into the
challenges that arise when balancing a
community’s needs with those of the individual.
He is eager to apply this experience in his
capacity as the Board Chairman and President.
Foremost, it
is Mauro’s desire that a voice of moderation
exists on the Board. He envisions the Board’s
role to be to one of protecting the property
values of the neighborhood by promptly and
consistently enforcing the covenants and
restrictions, maintaining the common areas, and
facilitating the development of neighborhood
cohesion and identity. He is committed to
objective decision-making, and integrity and
transparency in the conduct of all HOA
business.
Mauro holds
a Master of Public Administration degree from
the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
In his Master’s thesis, Neighborhood
Organizations: Decentralization through
Coproduction, Mauro explored the capacity
and feasibility of HOAs and similar groups to
deliver services traditionally provided by local
governments.
When he
finds the time, Mauro enjoys photography,
camping, and arguing with commentators on the
television.
Presently he
serves in the Research & Planning Unit of the
Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office as a
Management Analyst. |
