• 2009 National Night Out – Aug 4
Sunday, August 2nd, 2009National Night Out Goes Town-Wide!
National Night Out (NNO) is a nationwide event to promote community awareness of crime prevention with the support of local authorities. Traditionally, individual communities celebrated this event in their own neighborhoods. This year the town of Mooresville is teaming up with Target (national sponsor of NNO) and is hosting a town-wide event. NNO will be held this Tuesday, Aug. 4th, from 5 PM to 9 PM at the front and rear of the Charles Mack Center. Main Street will be closed from Iredell Avenue to Moore Street from 3 pm until completion of the event.
The Linwood Farms Nature Kids Who Care Club will be there to put on a display, Mooresville PD & FD will also have information booths, and the local Explorers will be there with McGruff, The Crime Dog. Children ID kits will be available to all. Target will provide refreshments and host a bike giveaway for a girl’s and a boy’s’ bike later in the evening. Many other local vendors will be supporting this event as well as Lake Norman Taekwondo America.
Lake Norman Taekwondo America will be on hand for a demonstration and this year is giving away free enrollment and a one-month tuition package which includes: martial outs outfit, student manual and school patch worth $165. School owner and chief instructor, Mr. Dang, is a 6th Degree Black Belt and will be available to answer any questions concerning martial arts and his school’s program.
So grab your flashlight, come out and enjoy the festivities and take a stand against crime! Hope to see you there!
